Don Don Donki launches new Jonetz store in Malaysia

The store seeks to provide a gourmet trip experience with dishes from various parts of Japan.

Don Don Donki has launched a new Jonetz store at Tropicana Gardens Mall in Malaysia, as the company expands in the Pan Pacific area in markets such as Singapore and Hong Kong, Pan Pacific Retail Management (Malaysia) announced in a press release.

With a total setup of 170 seats for eat-in space, the store is themed around a gourmet trip, providing dishes from various areas in Japan such as Takoyaki in Osaka and Ikayaki in Hokkaido. The Yatai is inspired by street stalls that imitates a train station.

The store’s “Furu Furu” corner, a concierge dedicated to fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables, features strawberries from Fukuoka and Saga prefectures. Expert fruit concierges will strive to bring in only fresh seasonal fruits from Japan, the company said.

The store also has a wide variety of Wagyu beef such as Omi beef and Hida brand Wagyu beef processed at halal-certified slaughterhouses, specially made to cater to Muslim customers.

Beyond food products, a selection of Japanese cosmetics is available at the dedicated concierge with attractive beauty and products along with the different ways to use and enjoy the benefits of these products.
