Korea retail sales up 9.1% in July

It was driven by a 15.3% jump in online sales.

South Korea’s retail sales rose 9.1% in July 2025, according to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE).

Offline sales grew 2.7%, whilst online sales jumped 15.3%.

Convenience stores increased 3.9%, department stores 5.1% , and supermarkets 1.8%.

Meanwhile, growth in offline stores was supported by government-issued recovery coupons.

By category, offline food sales rose 2.7%, services 4.4%, and luxury goods 11.3%.

Online sales were driven by services (up 24.9% ) and food (up 24.2% ).
