FairPrice Group expands solar power capacity

It aims to produce more than 2,000 MWh of clean energy annually.

TFairPrice Group (FPG) has unveiled plans to increase its solar power capacity, aiming to generate more than 2,000 megawatt hours (MWh) of clean energy annually.

The initiative marks a continuation and expansion of FPG's seven-year collaboration with ENGIE.

Building upon their existing 50,000 square metres of solar panels, FPG will add 1.6 megawatt peak (MWp) capacity through this project. Once completed, FPG's total renewable energy generation will reach 4.05 MWp.

The expanded solar installations will power crucial facilities such as distribution centres and corporate headquarters.

The partnership extension also underscores FPG's commitment to sustainability, expected to reduce annual carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions by 786 tonnes.

The collaboration with ENGIE includes a 20-year Power Purchase Agreement and enhancements like optimised cooling systems and advanced EV charging solutions.
