FamilyMart launches ‘next convenience store’ concept at new Tokyo flagship
Concept combines convenience with discovery and entertainment.
FamilyMart Co., Ltd. will launch the Next FamilyMart Project in 2026 as part of its 45th anniversary, introducing FAMIMA, a new convenience store concept.
The project's first flagship store, FAMIMA PARK AZABUDAI, will open on 10 July 2026, in Tokyo.
The Next FamilyMart Project aims to expand the role of convenience stores by combining convenience with new shopping experiences.
FamilyMart said the initiative will focus on creating stores that offer discovery, enjoyment, and products that enhance everyday life.
Developed in collaboration with creative director NIGO® and a team of creators, FAMIMA will feature location-specific store designs, new visual merchandising, IP-based initiatives, and exclusive products beyond the traditional convenience store format.
FamilyMart said selected FAMIMA concepts and products will also be introduced at stores nationwide, bringing the new convenience store experience to customers across Japan.
