CapitaLand Investment wins at Retail Asia Awards 2026 for its CapitaStar rewards programme
The transformation of CapitaStar delivers a more seamless, rewarding experience for shoppers whilst enhancing efficiency.
CapitaLand Investment (CLI) has been recognised at the Retail Asia Awards 2026, winning the Digital Transformation of the Year - Singapore award for its CapitaStar rewards programme. As part of this transformation, CapitaStar became the first retail mall loyalty programme in Singapore to operationalise linked payments at scale. The initiative reimagined the traditional loyalty experience by moving away from a manual receipt-based model and introducing system-validated transaction matching across multiple payment methods, including Mastercard, DBS/POSB payment modes, ShopBack Pay and its own proprietary digital shopping voucher — eCapitaVoucher.
Through a simple one-time linkage of their preferred payment method, members can now earn rewards automatically whenever they shop. This removes the need for manual receipt submissions and validation processes, creating a frictionless experience where rewards are earned seamlessly as part of everyday spending.
The transformation drove strong adoption amongst members and successfully encouraged a shift towards digital-first engagement. The platform attracted new members, re-engaged previously inactive users and accelerated the adoption of linked payment methods across the CapitaStar ecosystem.
By leveraging real-time transaction intelligence, CLI is also able to execute highly targeted and personalised campaigns, delivering greater relevance for shoppers whilst helping retailers drive engagement and spend within the network.
The enhanced ecosystem has strengthened collaborations with strategic and complementary partners, whilst reinforcing the role of eCapitaVoucher as a key driver of closed-loop spending within its portfolio.
Supporting this transformation is Casey, CapitaStar's AI-powered digital concierge, which helps members navigate the programme, answer queries and guide them through key actions such as linking payment methods and earning rewards.
The platform was built on a scalable API-driven architecture that does not require merchant hardware upgrades, enabling rapid deployment across thousands of participating stores in multiple properties, significantly reducing operational complexity whilst providing the flexibility to onboard new partners and payment methods efficiently.
