TikTok Shop strengthens IP protection efforts in digital commerce bootcamp
Over 40 million listings were blocked for IP violations in 2025.
TikTok Shop partnered with the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) to conduct an IP Bootcamp aimed at strengthening intellectual property protection in the digital marketplace.
The session focused on updates to TikTok Shop’s Intellectual Property Protection Center (IPPC), IPOPHL’s enforcement updates, and discussions on how stronger IP safeguards support business growth online, especially on TikTok Shop Mall.
The initiative was held during National Intellectual Property Month, highlighting the role of IP protection in building trust and a safer e-commerce environment.
TikTok Shop said IP protection remains a key priority as online shopping grows. From January to June 2025, over 40 million products were blocked from listing due to IP violations, while more than 2 million were removed after posting, according to its Safety Report.
The IPPC allows rights holders to register brands, monitor listings, and report suspected violations in one system, helping speed up enforcement and reduce counterfeit activity.
Brand partners said stronger IP protection has improved trust, reduced counterfeit risks, and helped them grow their presence on the platform through content-driven commerce.
TikTok Shop and IPOPHL also continue their #TikTokShopSmart campaign, which educates consumers on spotting counterfeit goods and helps sellers use platform tools to protect intellectual property.
