The robotics centre will process over 125 million packages annually at full capacity.
Amazon Australia will invest more than $750m to build Queensland’s first Amazon Robotics fulfilment, aiming to speed up delivery in the area.
According to a press release, the centre will house 15 million items and process over 125 million packages annually at full capacity.
In Amazon's robotic warehouses, technology handles heavy lifting and repetitive tasks to allow employees to focus on high-skill work requiring human judgment.
Located at Charter Hall’s Flagstone Logistics Estate, a 10-hectare site in the city of Logan, it will be Amazon’s second fulfilment centre in Queensland.
