Hylife Global Food clinches FMCG Asia Awards 2024 for ESG commitment

The company is dedicated to reducing its environmental impact, supporting communities, and ensuring transparency and ethical practices.

Food processing company Hylife Global Food has won the ESG Initiative of the Year - Thailand category at the coveted FMCG Asia Awards 2024 for its transparent governance and advanced Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems that have positioned Global Foods as a role model for sustainable and responsible business growth.

As part of its dedication to sustainable development, Hylife Global Food has implemented a state-of-the-art solar rooftop system, which is expected to generate power equivalent to 30m million THB over a 20-year contract with its supplier. This renewable energy initiative not only reduces operational costs but also lowers the company’s carbon footprint.

Additionally, the company’s biogas digestion system for wastewater treatment handles high  Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) loads and generates renewable energy. The company is projected to earn 1,000 to 1,200 metric tons (MT) of carbon credits annually through this initiative.

The company also actively supports local communities by creating value-added agricultural products and distributing them to global markets. This approach helps improve the livelihoods of local farmers by providing them with a stable income through consistent demand for their produce.

It also provides job opportunities to over six hundred employees, encouraging economic development and promoting inclusive growth within the community.

Meanwhile, Hylife Global Food’s governance framework is built on transparency, traceability,  and efficiency. This is evident in its utilisation of its Intelligence System, integrating the production dashboard with an ERP system.

This ERP system enables real-time monitoring of production processes, enhances traceability across the supply chain, and ensures transparency in every business process.

Exemplifying how a company can achieve business success whilst adhering to ESG principles,  Hylife Global Food continues to pave the way for a sustainable future. “Its comprehensive approach benefits the environment, local communities, and the business itself, setting a benchmark for responsible business practices in the food processing industry,” the company said.
