foodpanda launches ‘Meal For One’ for solo diners

Customers can now order single-person meals with no minimum order and lower delivery fees.

foodpanda has unveiled a new feature, ‘Meal For One,’ offering curated set menus specifically for solo diners at lower prices across Asia.

The new service allows customers to order single-person meals without a minimum order value and with reduced delivery fees, making dining alone more affordable and convenient.

Currently available in seven markets with nearly 20,000 restaurants offering the new menus, ‘Meal For One’ will expand across the region in the coming months. 

“More people in Asia are moving to urban areas and living alone for work. Meal For One is perfect for these solo diners, allowing them to order exactly what they need, without a minimum delivery order value,” said Luc Andreani, chief operating officer, foodpanda.

The rise in single-person households, which grew by 31% globally from 2010 to 2019, with significant growth in APAC, highlights the increasing demand for such services. 

Customers using ‘Meal For One’ can save at least 10% compared to regular meal prices due to lower delivery fees and no minimum spending requirement.

The ordering process has also been streamlined for convenience. Users can access the 'Meal For One' menu through a dedicated section on the app’s homepage, making it easy to locate their preferred items. Additionally, the option to customise drinks and sides with simple add-ons helps to minimise decision fatigue and enhance the overall user experience.
