Ajinomoto Philippines switches to 100% renewables in manufacturing facility

It is achieved through the government’s Retail Competition and Open Access Programme.

The Philippine unit of Japan-based food company Ajinomoto Group has shifted to 100% renewable energy for its manufacturing facility in Bulacan province.

Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation partnered with ACEN Renewables Energy Solutions to support the company’s sustainability goals.

"Ajinomoto Philippines is committed to environmental responsibility and achieving sustainable growth. Our switch to a renewable energy supply through ACEN RES is a significant step towards this goal," said Koichi Osaki, President, of Ajinomoto Philippines Corporation.

"We relentlessly foster partnerships with organizations that share the same advocacy and goal, because we believe that by combining our efforts, we are closer to co-creating a greener and more sustainable Philippine society," he added.

ACEN said in a statement the partnership was supported by the government’s Retail Competition and Open Access Programme which allows companies with a minimum demand of 500 kilowatts every month to choose their electricity supplier.
