3 in 4 Southeast Asian consumers live ‘digital lifestyles’

They use technology to make their lives better.

Around three in four Southeast Asian consumers have relied on technology to enhance their daily lives, with one in four prioritising embedding smart home features as part of their ideal home, according to a report by Euromonitor International.

“Gen Z and Alpha consumers grow up with seamless connectivity and are accustomed to having technology embedded in their daily lives,” the report read.

With millennials as parents of “future digital natives,” around one in three have regular access to smart appliances, and one in six have access to in-home voice assistants.

The report found that 43% of consumers in the region shop online weekly, with 73% of e-commerce transactions made in online marketplaces.
