DFI Retail Group expands mobile payment methods in over 800 store outlets

This covers all 7-Eleven, Cold Storage, Giant and Guardian stores in Singapore.

DFI Retail Group partnered with Alipay+ to accept mobile payment methods in-store at all 7-Eleven, Cold Storage, Giant and Guardian stores in Singapore.

In a statement, DFI said users of Alipay from the Chinese mainland, AlipayHK from Hong Kong, Touch ‘n Go eWallet from Malaysia, GCash from the Philippines, TrueMoney from Thailand, and Kakao Pay from South Korea can pay at those stores using their home mobile wallets, enabled by NETS.

"In a world of shifting consumer behaviour and evolving payment preferences, offering localised payment options for international visitors is an essential step towards enhancing the in-store shopping experience,” said Lee Yik Hun, Marketing Director, SEA Food, DFI Retail Group.

“As a leading retail group, it is our commitment to adapt to the needs of our customers, and providing convenient and familiar payment methods is the obvious and natural move to make. We are thrilled to be able to partner with Alipay+ on this to serve our international customers even better,” he added.

The company added that this will also improve the digital experience of international visitors in the country.
