FamilyMart Malaysia’s store cafe secures halal certification

It plans to have 300 halal-certified FamiCafé by 2025.

FamilyMart Malaysia’s FamiCafé in Shah Alam received a Halal Certification from the government, the first convenience store cafe concept in the country to secure such certification.

In a social media post, FamilyMart Malaysia said this is a step toward its plan to have 300 FamiCafé stores Halal certified by 2025.

The convenience store chain currently has 16 FamiCafés.

Aside from this, FamilyMart said it is launching a self-service kiosk to improve customer shopping experience.

Halal Certification is given by the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia.
