JCube mall to stop operations on 7 August

Its site will be converted into a 40-storey residential development.

JCube mall will close its doors on 7 August as CapitaLand Development secured permission from the Urban Redevelopment Authority to redevelop the site into a 40-storey residential development.

In a statement, CapitaLand said the residential development will have commercial space on the first and second floors and is targeted for completion in 2027, in line with the government’s plan to open new homes in the Jurong Lake District (JLD).

“Leveraging CapitaLand’s award-winning development capabilities, we are confident of maximising the excellent locational attributes of the site to create quality homes where residents could enjoy the privileges of living in a district where facilities for retail, entertainment, healthcare, education, sports and fitness are all within easy reach,” said CLD (Singapore) CEO Tan Yew Chin.

“The development is expected to launch for sale in 2H 2023,” he added.

The government plans to transform JLD into Singapore’s largest business district outside the central area.
