Bain Capital to buy majority stake in Japanese apparel maker Mash 

Fashion brands under Mash include Gelato Pique, Snidel, and Fray I.D.

Bain Capital Private Equity reported it has agreed to buy a majority stake in Mash Holdings, Inc.  

According to Mash, the agreement is in line with its corporate philosophy and management policy. 

“By leveraging the knowledge of Bain Capital, which has investment experience in a wide range of industries and has supported the growth of investees, the Mash Group will further strengthen its business foundation and accelerate medium- to long-term business growth from a global perspective," the company said in a statement.

"We will build a management system to realize it."

Amongst the fashion brands under Mash are Gelato Pique, Snidel, Fray ID, and Cosme Kitchen. 

Mash added the company will also expand its business in Japan and overseas to cover design, real estate, as well as licensing.
