Alibaba concludes livestreaming training programme in Malaysia

Participants in the program were encouraged to sell on the Lazada marketplace.

Alibaba has concluded a training program in Malaysia for close to 300 individuals exploring a career in livestreaming and local entrepreneurs seeking to leverage e-commerce for their businesses, the company said in a news release.

Over three days participants learnt skills for livestreaming and video production led by local key opinion leaders (KOLs) and trainers from Alibaba’s marketplace Taobao and its Southeast Asian e-commerce platform Lazada, the platform said.

Launched in 2020, the training program drew more than 200 participants in its first year, Alibaba said. Participants that completed the training program were encouraged to join Lazada’s pool of livestreaming KOLs or become a seller on Lazada Marketplace.
