Wilcon Depot receives Domestic Retailer of the Year in the Philippines award

Its efforts to improve its business were recognised in the 17th Retail Asia Awards.

It is known for creating a personalized and customer-based in-store experience. The company worked hard to maintain its leadership in the retail construction industry and captured the online shopper market with the current retail landscape in the new normal due to the ongoing pandemic situation.

It developed and introduced new, convenient, and effective shopping options called the Browse, Call, and Collect or Deliver (BCCD) and Virtual Tour.

Apart from this, the company also successfully launched another shopping alternative with its newest Official Flagship Store on Lazada and Shopee, the top and fastest-growing online shopping sites in Southeast Asia.

This is following Wilcon’s launch of its very own online shopping website to bring a bigger and better home shopping experience to its valued customers nationwide.

The company now provides contactless payment options like bank transfers, GCash, PayMaya, Instapay, PesoNet, WeChat, and Alipay for customers’ convenience.

Aside from the company’s online presence expansion, Wilcon has successfully opened 11 new retail outlets last year across the Philippines.

As a result, they have ended the year 2021 with 73 stores nationwide.

For these developments, the company received the Domestic Retailer of the Year – Philippines award in the recently concluded 17th Retail Asia Awards. It is a prestigious annual event that gathers the region's best retailers and recognises the most outstanding retail initiatives.

In giving this award, it took into consideration three of its achievements.

First is that Wilcon successfully opened 10 new store locations in the Philippines in 2021 as part of the fulfilment of the store expansion campaign, #FlyingHighTo100, wherein Wilcon aims to have 100 stores by 2025, barring any unexpected external factors.

The second is that it launched the Home Living Section in all its branches nationwide. This section exhibits thematically arranged spaces set in different themes and offers lifestyle inspirations that customers can recreate in their areas with products they can get from the extensive line of furniture, decors, and other home interior products.

Third, it launched a bigger and better online shopping site, the Wilcon Online Store. With its goal to provide a frictionless home shopping experience, every homeowner and builder can enjoy exclusive perks, limitless browsing, and seamless shopping by visiting the company’s official website.

As a household name in the construction supply industry since 1977, Wilcon continuously strives to attain a strong reputation and leadership in the Philippine market.
