The Penshoppe Group recognised as Domestic E-Tailer of the Year in the Philippines

It was awarded for its customer-centric digital innovations for retail.

The Penshoppe Group, also known as GOLDEN ABC, Inc., is a multi-awarded international fashion enterprise that houses the top proprietary fashion brands from the Philippines. It produces and retails lifestyle lines under a dynamic family of brands such as Penshoppe, OXGN, ForMe, Memo, Regatta, and BOCU.

Following the company’s 36-year innovation-filled history, it recognised the growth of demand for e-commerce and online shopping. As a brand with many brick-and-mortar stores in the country, this was an important pivot for the company.

Even before the pandemic - and before online shopping became the go-to avenue for retail consumption - the enterprise’s e-commerce channels had already been up and running. Due to the eventual implementation of lockdown restrictions and its effects on the company’s physical stores, multiple major projects that had been in the pipelines and the priority of bringing the store experience to the customers’ online spaces were accelerated exponentially.

One of which was how the group shifted and moved to offer a wide array of wellness and protection products across all of its brands and on all of its online channels.

The seamless e-commerce and brand merchandise collaboration led to the quick production and release of masks and pandemic wear.

Moreover, In March 2021, all brands implemented a streamlined return and exchange system for online purchases. Then by May 2021, The Penshoppe Group started to cultivate the Philippines’ largest and most advanced omnichannel strategy to enhance its customers’ shopping experience.

It upgraded its end-to-end retail operations in both its digital and brick-and-mortar channels. This covered merchandise planning across channels, how orders are collected and fulfilled, and how shoppers are served and engaged.

In August 2021, the group launched its new and futuristic Distribution Center that was built in partnership with international supply chain consultancy firm ThreeSixty.

It stands at over - 20,000 sqm. and boasts of an upgraded systematic processing flow and high-end mobile robots that automate sorting and picking.

For this initiative, the company was given the Domestic E-Tailer of the Year – Philippines award in the recently concluded 17th Retail Asia Awards. It is a prestigious annual event that gathers the region's best retailers and recognises the most outstanding retail initiatives.

In giving this award, it took into consideration three of its achievements.

First is that it started the cultivation of the largest and most advanced omnichannel strategy in the Philippines.

The second is that it combines one of the in-store shopping’s most unique benefits with the convenience of purchasing items remotely by implementing a streamlined return and exchange system for online purchases.

Lastly, it mobilised its state-of-the-art Distribution Center which has already increased the brands’ capabilities in many areas, such as accelerating order fulfilment by 40% and increasing order accuracy  to 99.6% just six months after its launch.

According to the company, it is on its way to achieving its new goal – becoming the standard for retail as it functions in the digital landscape, by redefining and refining the customers’ shopping experience.
