J&T Express expands in Malaysia amidst stronger Southeast Asia demand
The company just acquired a 30-acre parcel of land.
J&T Express has acquired a 30-acre parcel of land in Malaysia, which will be developed into an integrated logistics centre to meet the company’s growing business needs in Southeast Asia.
“It remains our emphasis to strengthen our leadership position in Southeast Asia through expanding our presence in existing markets,” Charles Hou, Group Vice President of J&T Express, said.
“The new facility will be fitted with our advanced technology, which enables us to better tap on our existing networks to meet the growing demands of the burgeoning e-commerce industry in Southeast Asia.”
J&T Express invested a total of RM600m to acquire the land and develop it into a logistics centre in the country.
This also comes as the logistics firm celebrates its fifth year since starting operations in Malaysia.
“In doing this, we hope to drive the development of the local economy, provide jobs for the community, and play an active role in the development of the local logistics industry and the long-term development of the community,” he said.
J&T Express currently operates in 12 markets, including China Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Cambodia, Singapore, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Mexico, and Brazil.
The company had earlier announced plans to build the largest smart logistics industrial park in the Middle East in the next ten years.
