JD Logistics achieves a 70% growth in overseas orders during Black Friday

AI and automation helped propel sales for the China-based e-commerce channel.

JD Logistics has recorded a 70% year-on-year increase in overseas outbound orders during the Black Friday campaign.

The surge has been propelled by the integration of automated applications and advanced AI algorithms into JD’s operations, providing accurate forecasts (with an accuracy rate for Black Friday hitting 95%) and prompting readiness in inventory.

As a measure for improvement, JD Logistics applied its specialty international warehouse management system, enabling an effective system schedule for swift operational efficiency for overseas warehouses and reducing order fulfilment to 2-3 days.

Several system enhancements are applied in different overseas warehouses across Europe, North America, and other regions, deploying over 1,000 parts for automated equipment for Automated Guided Vehicles, Container Transport Units, sorting robots, and sorting conveyor equipment, as well as applying a Power-Sorting-Picking model.

For merchants and sellers, JD Logistics has provided an international order fulfilment platform, supporting vendors with a network of primary e-commerce platforms and independent sites for fulfilment and inventory.

Over China, JD Logistics has over 1,600 warehouses, as well as 90 bonded warehouses for global networks, covering over 900,000 square metres of warehouse space.
