Alibaba.com inks partnership with Alioth to support SMEs

Through the deal, Alioth will be given access to Alibaba’s online tools and sales channels.

Alibaba.com has struck a partnership with online retail consultancy Alioth BV to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) on their global export journeys.

The collaboration will allow Alioth to gain access to Alibaba’s innovative resources, like their B2B tools, to boost long-term growth for new and existing clients.

With almost two-thirds of small businesses in Europe not having transitioned to digital, and over a fifth not exporting their products, the assistance to SMEs can lead to a significant growth opportunity for both the major China-based platform and local SMEs, especially small companies in Europe.

“Leveraging its expertise working with multi-sector SMEs across Europe, Alioth will play an important role in supporting SMEs in the digitalisation of their processes as a key strength for ensuring that they future-proof their business for years to come,” Jijay Shen, General Manager – Europe at Alibaba.com, said.

The Amsterdam-headquartered firm Alioth has long backed SMEs in markets, like Benelux, the UK, and the Nordics by selling on Alibaba.com channels.
