Nestlé Purina PetCare triumphs at FMCG Asia Awards 2025 with product launch distinction
The launch of PURINA ONE with Immune Defence Plus+ elevated standards in pet nutrition.
Nestlé Purina PetCare received an accolade in the Product Launch of the Year - Australia category at the FMCG Asia Awards 2025 for the relaunch of PURINA ONE Immune Defence Plus+ wet cat food. The recognition reflects continued progress in the company’s science-led approach to feline nutrition and its ability to deliver strong business results.
In 2024, the company introduced the PURINA ONE Immune Defence Plus+ wet range following several years of technical research and process refinement.
The project aimed to apply the proven immune support benefits of its dry food variant to a wet format, a task requiring extensive product stability testing and formulation work. Nestlé Purina PetCare created a precise nutrient combination comprising Vitamins A and E, Beta Glucans, and Omega 6 fatty acids. Each component plays a defined role in supporting immune response, skin integrity, and overall vitality in cats.
The relaunch recorded strong commercial performance across Asia, Oceania, and Africa (AOA). It posted 53.5% growth in value sales and gained 800bps of market share over the last year, according to Nielsen Retail Sales Value (P07 2025). In Australia, the impact was even greater. Market share rose by 1,600 bps, with overall brand growth of 88.9%, well above the category’s 1% increase. Kantar Worldpanel data from June 2025 further indicated growth in new customer acquisition (+35%), trading-up (+33%), and repertoire expansion (+32%).
These results underline the commercial strength of a technically robust innovation and the successful transfer of nutritional science into new product formats – and it’s more than a recognition of business results; it’s a celebration of our commitment to improving pet health and strengthening the bond between pets and the people who love them.
