FairPrice Group recognised for digital transformation at Retail Asia Awards 2025

The group's sweeping transformation spans its 1.7-million-user app, AI-enhanced operations, and Healthpoints ecosystem.

FairPrice Group, Singapore’s largest retailer, has been recognised for its successful digital transformation, winning the Digital Transformation of the Year - Singapore and Digital Initiative of the Year - Singapore at the prestigious Retail Asia Awards 2025. The awards reflect the Group’s commitment to leveraging cutting-edge technology across its ecosystem to make everyday life a little better for all in Singapore.

Powering retail through digital innovation

Through constant digital innovation, the FairPrice Group app today has over 1.7 million users, and connects them across the group’s 570 touchpoints from online and physical grocery shopping, loyalty rewards, meal payments and more.

It serves as a central touchpoint to FairPrice Group’s omnichannel ecosystem, including grocery stores, food courts, convenience stores and pharmacies, enhancing convenience and value for customers.

Behind the scenes, FairPrice Group has transformed its operations with the Supply Chain Operations Centre (SCope). The hub uses real-time data analytics and predictive forecasting to optimise supply chain management, monitor stock levels, and proactively mitigate potential disruptions, supporting national supply resilience. SCope processes 60 million data points daily, enabling informed decision-making and ensuring that daily essentials are kept within reach for customers across FairPrice Group’s stores.

Customer experience and service efficiency have also been significantly enhanced through its generative artificial intelligence (AI) chatbot and AI-powered call centre agents. The AI-driven transformation has increased the company’s ticket-handling capacity by 20%, reducing operational costs and elevating customer satisfaction.

Moreover, the company is redefining AI adoption in retail, prioritising investment in its people alongside technological advancement. All staff members are equipped with at least one AI assistant that is integrated seamlessly into their daily work. These AI tools handle complex data analysis, automate routine tasks, and enhance customer service capabilities, freeing staff to focus on delivering greater value with increased job satisfaction.

“FairPrice Group is committed to redefining retail experiences for our people and customers by embracing digital innovation. Through the integration of digital solutions across our businesses and touchpoints, we aim to empower our teams to stay ahead the challenges of an evolving retail landscape, while continuing to deliver on our purpose of making everyday a little better for all in Singapore,” the company said.

This milestone has earned FairPrice Group the Digital Transformation of the Year – Singapore accolade, a testament to its commitment to make every day a little better for those it serves.

Digitised Healthpoints make earning rewards for healthier purchases seamless

FairPrice Group has been recognised with the Digital Initiative of the Year - Singapore award for its innovative collaboration with Singapore’s Health Promotion Board (HPB). It is the first grocery retailer to link its mobile app with HPB’s Healthy 365 app, seamlessly integrating Healthpoints to make earning rewards from healthier purchases effortless for customers.

Previously, customers could only earn HPB Healthpoints at FairPrice supermarkets and Kopitiam food courts by manually scanning QR codes on receipts. With the integration, rewards are now instant, automated, and embedded into daily shopping. The app’s 1.7 million users who link it to Healthy 365 and pay via the FairPrice Group app can effortlessly earn HPB Healthpoints when purchasing Healthier Choice Symbol (HCS) groceries at FairPrice supermarkets and online, Unity pharmacies, and Healthier Dining Programme (HDP) endorsed food and drinks at Kopitiam food courts.

By digitising the earning of Healthpoints at its businesses, FairPrice Group has converted 200,000 customers from manual scanning, processed over a million paperless transactions, and synced data with HPB in real time.

To drive adoption, FairPrice Group has launched a high-impact awareness campaign, targeting in-store shoppers still scanning physical QR codes and online shoppers missing out on rewards. It has deployed a multi-channel education strategy that includes strategic in-store wobblers, digital screens and posters, app-wide banners, and educational materials in different languages.

FairPrice Group remains committed to leveraging digital innovation and technology to enhance every aspect of its operations and customer experience, to deliver on its purpose of making every day a little better for all in Singapore.
