SSI Schaefer honoured as a leader in intralogistics innovation in Germany
As the winner of Focus Money’s 2018 innovation award for the logistics industry, SSI Schaefer ranks among the most forward-looking companies in Germany.
SSI Schaefer, a leading provider of products and solutions for internal material flows, has been named one of the most innovative companies by German news magazines Focus and Focus Money.
The international, family-owned company has been a driver of groundbreaking ideas for many years, with a long-term commitment to research and development investment. The enterprise is always at the cutting edge of new developments and strives to deliver the solutions of tomorrow – a forward-looking approach and a key factor in its success.
As early as 1953, SSI Schaefer demonstrated its intralogistics prowess with the introduction of its revolutionary Lager-Fix containers and it has continued to deliver pioneering and award-winning solutions ever since.
Its automated guided vehicle (AGV) WEASEL, for instance, won the IFOY (International Intralogistics and Forklift Truck of the Year) Award in 2016. Both WEASEL and the SSI Carrier pouch-sorter system have made the Industry Awards’ “Best of” list. In addition, SSI Schaefer garnered the title “Best Logistics Brand 2017” in the “IT for Warehouse Management” category – an accolade that underscores its role as an intralogistics IT powerhouse. Its inventiveness is also reflected in the high number of patents SSI Schaefer files every year.
“At SSI Schaefer, research and development is given very special importance. Innovation is key to meeting the specific imperatives of our market and customers. We are driving forward new technologies and developments with maximum agility and speed-to-solution, and translating them into new, market-ready products,” explained Rob Schmit, EVP, Technology and Innovation at SSI Schaefer. “We are very pleased to have received this award and will continue to be a global driver of innovation. Under the strong leadership of our headquarters in Germany, we will further shape the future of intralogistics.”
PR agency Faktenkontor conducted the “Germany’s most innovative companies” survey on behalf of Focus and Focus Money. The award recognises the country’s most forward-looking businesses, determined by approximately 15 million votes cast via the Internet. SSI Schaefer received the accolade for the logistics industry.
