Sheng Siong clinches lease agreement for third China store

The store is expected to be operational before end-Q3.

Singapore-based supermarket chain Sheng Siong Group has clinched a lease agreement with Yunnan Yingjun Commercial Operation Management for a new store in Kunming, China, the company announced in a bourse filing.

The 37,800 sqft will be located in Chun Cheng Hui Gu Phase 2 Commercial Building, and is expected to be operational before the end of Q3 2021. This will bring the group’s store-count to 63 in Singapore and 3 in China.

Sheng Siong Group was founded in 1985, and its retail stores are primarily located in Singapore. Its supermarkets offer an assortment of live, fresh and chilled produce, such as seafood, meat, fruits and vegetables, in addition to processed, packaged and preserved food products as well as general merchandise such as toiletries and essential household products.
