Rakuten opens e-commerce platform to Singapore sellers
Sellers can ship directly from Singapore to Japan.
Rakuten Group, Inc. is expanding Rakuten Ichiba to let Singapore businesses sell directly to Japanese customers.
Previously limited to sellers in Japan, South Korea, China, select European countries, the U.S., and Canada, Rakuten Ichiba is now open to Singapore-based merchants.
Singapore sellers can list products on Rakuten Ichiba without needing a physical presence or inventory in Japan.
Products can also be shipped directly from warehouses in Singapore to customers in Japan, streamlining operations and expanding product variety.
Rakuten will provide support through dedicated E-Commerce Consultants and access to tools that help sellers improve visibility, manage storefronts, and grow customer loyalty.
Merchants can also tap into Rakuten’s ecosystem, including AI-powered sales features, exclusive shopping events, and the popular Rakuten Points program.
Rakuten Ichiba has over 100 million registered users and recorded nearly 6 trillion yen in domestic gross merchandise sales in 2024. The platform holds 27% of Japan’s e-commerce market.
