South Korea's Lotte Wellfood expands India operations with new plant

The company plans to increase production lines from nine to 16 by 2028.

South Korean confectionery firm Lotte Wellfood has opened a new manufacturing plant in Pune to expand its footprint in India, Yonhap News Agency reported.

The company, which acquired local ice cream brand Havmor in 2017, currently operates a production facility in Gujarat. While the Gujarat plant has focused on Havmor’s existing product range, the newly established Pune plant will manufacture Lotte’s own product lineup,

The company plans to expand production lines at the Pune facility from the current nine to 16 by 2028 to meet rising demand for Korean food products in India.

Lotte Wellfood reported $185m in sales in India in 2023.
