Over 80% of Chinese consumers now consider wellness a top priority
85% said they purchased more in the healthy-aging category.
More than eight in 10 Chinese consumers (87%) now consider wellness a top priority in their everyday lives as the business of health reached $1.8t per year globally, according to a McKinsey report.
The report also found that 35% of surveyed Chinese consumers said that they had replaced some in-person healthcare appointments with at-home diagnostic tests.
Moreover, 85% said they purchased more in the healthy-aging category in the past year than in prior years with results being similar across age groups.
Further, more than 80% consider gut health to be important, and more than half said it will be a higher priority over the next two to three years.
