A key update is the "Lifestyle Service Package," which allows members to redeem PLUS credits for services.
China’s JD.com has announced a full upgrade to its JD PLUS membership program, introducing new benefits aimed at enhancing customer experience and loyalty.
Key updates include the “Lifestyle Service Package,” which allows members to redeem PLUS credits for services like home cleaning, laundry, car washes, free shipping, telemedicine consultations, e-book subscriptions, and health checkups.
The new “180-Day Premium Replacement” policy offers replacement for self-operated products, including phones and appliances, if they have quality issues within 180 days of delivery.
JD PLUS also expands its “Unlimited Free Shipping” service to JD NOW, covering self-operated businesses like 7FRESH, JD Grocery, JD Pharmacy, and JD Super, offering free, minute-level delivery with no order minimum.
Additionally, JD PLUS has partnered with Tencent Video and NetEase Cloud Music to launch co-branded membership cards. Priced at 298 RMB, the cards offer shopping, streaming, and music benefits worth over 1,200 RMB.
Since launching in 2015, JD PLUS has pioneered paid memberships in China’s e-commerce sector, offering perks such as discounts, dedicated customer service, and free returns, along with over 100 lifestyle benefits from over 2,000 brands.
JD PLUS members spend on average 10 times more than non-members, with a 150% increase in annual spending and 120% boost in shopping frequency, the company noted.
