JD.com launches warehouse in Dubai
It uses real-time inventory management to optimise operations.
JD.com has opened its first warehouse in Dubai, marking the company’s initial asset investment in the UAE.
Operated by JINGDONG Logistics and developed through JINGDONG Property, the facility is located in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) and covers over 10,000 square meters.
The warehouse uses real-time inventory management to optimise operations and traceability. It already stores nearly 1 million items for a major electronics manufacturer and maintains an outbound “in-time” rate above 99.9%.
The expansion is part of JD.com’s strategy to grow its logistics network in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. JINGDONG Property also plans a 70,000-square-meter smart logistics hub in Abu Dhabi with Abu Dhabi Airports Free Zone (ADAFZ).
JoyLogistics, JD.com’s supply chain service, provides end-to-end logistics, including international freight, last-mile delivery, and bonded warehousing, supporting both B2B and B2C operations in the region.
