Health and beauty brand Watsons opened 1,400 stores in Asia since 2019

Watsons most recently opened its 700th store in Malaysia.

Health and beauty brand Watsons has opened 1,400 new stores across Asia since 2019.

“A.S. Watson didn’t stop our network expansion during challenging times because we have a solid O+O  strategy which is relevant to customers’ needs,” said Dominic Lai, group managing director of A.S. Watson Group. “We continue to identify strategic locations across Asia and opened over 1,400 new stores in the last three years.” 

Most recently, Lai opened Watsons’ 700th store in Malaysia, from only 535 stores in 2019. He shared that loyalty members in the country rose to 7.2 million as of 2023, from 5.7 million in 2019.

Watsons’ 700th store in Malaysia, located at the district of Klang, spans 4,000 square feet. It the offers innovative services such as StyleMe, an augmented reality-powered virtual makeup try-on equipment; a W table for experiential testing for new and exclusive products; and even professional makeup artists, who will be available to provide customers with personalised recommendations.
