Global soft drinks industry up 3% in 2024

The growth, whilst steady, was tempered by higher pricing across key markets.

The global soft drinks industry recorded a modest 3% increase in retail volume sales in 2024, Euromonitor International reported.

The growth, whilst steady, was tempered by higher pricing across key markets, which dampened consumer demand.

Energy drinks and bottled water led the charge as the sector's primary growth drivers, signalling a growing consumer preference for functional and health-oriented beverage options.

The Coca-Cola Company retained its position as the market leader, commanding a 17% share of global retail volume. This reaffirms the company's long-standing dominance in the sector.

Meanwhile, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific are set to drive 80% of the industry's absolute litre volume growth from 2024 to 2029.
