Global paper packaging market to hit $527.1B by 2030
Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing region.
The global paper packaging market is expected to grow from $416.1b in 2025 to $527.1b by 2030, expanding at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.8%, according to a new report by The Research Insights.
The growth is driven by stronger consumer demand for sustainable alternatives and tighter regulations targeting plastic use.
Consumers are increasingly drawn to minimalist and eco-friendly packaging, rejecting flashy designs and excessive materials in favour of simpler, recyclable options that reflect brand transparency and environmental responsibility.
The report also highlighted a rising preference for mono-material packaging, such as paper and paperboard, which can be easily recycled using standard systems—unlike mixed-material packaging that combines plastic or foil.
The shift aligns with growing public awareness around waste reduction and supports a circular economy. Corrugated boxes remain the dominant product in the market due to their durability, lightweight properties, and recyclability, making them the preferred option for e-commerce and electronics sectors.
Additionally, innovations such as water-resistant coatings and digital printing are increasing the appeal and functionality of these solutions.
Asia Pacific is the fastest-growing region, driven by urbanisation and rising consumption in countries like China, India, and across Southeast Asia.
