Estée Lauder appoints Stéphane de La Faverie as new CEO

He will succeed Fabrizio Freda.

The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. has announced that Stéphane de La Faverie will become its new President and CEO, effective 1 January 2025.

De La Faverie will succeed Fabrizio Freda, who is retiring after over 16 years with the company. Freda will assist with the transition in the coming months.

De La Faverie, currently executive group president at Estée Lauder, has more than 25 years of experience in prestige beauty. He has led key brands like Estée Lauder, Jo Malone London, The Ordinary, and Le Labo. De La Faverie has played a key role in expanding the company’s fragrance portfolio and leading initiatives that improved profitability.

Meanwhile, William Lauder will step down from his position as executive chairman after the annual meeting of stockholders but will remain chair of the board.
