L’Oréal boosts India push with Innovist acquisition
Founders will remain involved as minority shareholders and continue operations.
L’Oréal has signed an agreement to acquire a majority stake in Indian personal care company Innovist, expanding its presence in India’s fast-growing beauty market.
Innovist, founded in 2019 by Rohit Chawla, Sifat Khurana, and Vimal Bhola, is a science-led, digital-first personal care company known for brands such as Bare Anatomy and Chemist at Play.
The company focuses on clean formulations, ingredient transparency, and in-house R&D, with products sold through direct-to-consumer platforms, e-commerce, quick commerce, and offline retail.
Under the deal, Innovist’s founding team will stay on as minority shareholders and continue running the business alongside L’Oréal India. Innovist’s brands will be integrated into L’Oréal’s Consumer Products Division.
