MR.DIY wins two major awards at Retail Asia Awards 2026
The company was recognised for its integrated marketing campaign and renewable energy transition in the Philippines.
MR.DIY won Integrated Campaign of the Year - Philippines and ESG Initiative of the Year - Philippines in the Retail Asia Awards 2026. The company earned these accolades for its strategic efforts to reposition its brand through content-driven storytelling and for leading the retail sector in renewable energy adoption.
The campaign Gusto Mong Buhay, i-MR.DIY transformed the retailer from a price-driven shop into a trusted everyday partner for Filipino families. Launched in January 2026, the initiative utilised a four-pillar content strategy to spark inspiration and provide practical home solutions. By using relatable narratives focused on family roles, the campaign generated over 140 million video views across digital platforms. Specifically, content featuring the Ate or older sister role reached over 43 million views on Facebook and TikTok, whilst thematic videos achieved 31 million views. This integrated approach successfully bridged the gap between online inspiration and in-store action across its network of over 900 branches.
In addition to its marketing success, the company pioneered sustainability through its Scaling a Retail Energy Transition programme. MR.DIY became the first home improvement retailer in the Philippines to join the Retail Aggregation Program. This initiative powered 28 stores with 100% renewable energy from solar, wind, and geothermal sources. The Energy Regulatory Commission recognised the company as a RAP Champion in 2025 for these efforts.
Further environmental milestones included the transition of the Dasmariñas warehouse to renewable energy via the Green Energy Option Program. By 2025, the facility achieved 62% renewable energy penetration. The company also deployed solar PV systems in pilot stores and conducted energy efficiency trials that reduced air-conditioning consumption by up to 37%. These initiatives led to a 2.8% decrease in market-based Scope 2 emissions, avoiding over 1,000 tCO2e.
