EssilorLuxottica strengthens presence in Asia with Top Charoen deal
The partnership aims to advance vision care standards and wearable technology in the region.
EssilorLuxottica has acquired a stake in Top Charoen, Thailand’s largest optical retail chain with over 2,000 stores nationwide, strengthening their long-standing partnership.
The deal gives EssilorLuxottica a stronger foothold in Thailand, a key hub for its global manufacturing and business operations, and positions the company to expand access to high-quality eyewear and eye care services across the region.
Founded in 1947, Top Charoen operates multiple brands including Top Charoen, Luxoptic, Eye Class, Eye Bright, Eye Sport, Big C Optical, Robinson Optical, and Beautiful Optic. The company has also expanded into e-commerce through its proprietary platform and local online marketplaces.
In a joint statement, EssilorLuxottica Chairman and CEO Francesco Milleri and Deputy CEO Paul du Saillant said the partnership will strengthen the group’s presence in one of Asia’s most important markets.
They added that the collaboration will support advancements in vision care and contribute to the development of emerging wearable technologies in the region.
