CarousellMOBILE opens first store to boost trust in secondhand tech
Buyers can test and inspect devices in-store.
CarousellMOBILE, part of Carousell Group, has opened its first dedicated retail store for mobile phones and consumer tech at Chinatown Point.
The new outlet builds on the “phygital” retail model first introduced with the Carousell Luxury store on Orchard Road, combining online convenience with in-person assurance.
The Chinatown Point outlet allows users to begin their journey online by browsing listings or obtaining a valuation for their devices at sg.carousellmobile.com, before completing the transaction in-store.
The location features the widest selection of secondhand mobile devices housed in a single retail store in Singapore, enabling buyers to physically inspect and test products before purchase.
All devices sold undergo a 40-point inspection and come with a one-month warranty, which can be extended up to 12 months. Customers who reserve a device online can also enjoy a seven-day return period after viewing the product in person.
For sellers, the store offers instant device valuation and cash payouts via PayNow within minutes of acceptance. Valuations are powered by marketplace data from Carousell, ensuring prices reflect real-time demand and market trends.
Customers can also trade in their devices and upgrade to a newer model in a single transaction. In addition, on-site repair services are available to help extend the lifespan of devices.
Sellers can get instant valuations for their devices and receive payouts via PayNow within minutes. Trade-ins and on-site repairs are also available, making it a one-stop shop for buying, selling, and maintaining mobile devices.
CarousellMOBILE uses marketplace data and Laku6’s AI-powered valuation tools to ensure fair pricing and match stock to demand.
Inventory and merchandising at the store are guided by real-time search and intent data from the Carousell marketplace.
Operations are further supported by Laku6, the Indonesia-based electronics recommerce platform acquired by Carousell Group in 2022.
