Alfamart Philippines launches franchising program for MSMEs
It had 2,337 stores nationwide by September 2025.
Alfamart Philippines, part of the SM Group, has opened its franchising program, allowing micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to become franchisees as the chain expands nationwide.
The pilot started in Laguna with two franchise stores. The first opened in October 2024 with long-time Alfamart lessor Engineer Leovino Datario.
The second opened in August 2025 with Arles Uy, Jr., owner of AAU Corporation, which runs 15 Express Clean laundromats next to Alfamart stores.
By the end of September 2025, Alfamart had 2,337 stores across the Philippines.
Alfamart combines the convenience of a neighborhood store with the range of a supermarket, offering groceries, fresh and frozen goods, snacks, personal care items, and SM Bonus products.
Alfamart Philippines is a joint venture with Indonesia-based Alfamart, which operates over 21,000 stores.
