SHEIN conducts over 2 million product safety tests in 2024

It also plans to invest over $15m to strengthen its safety protocols and compliance measures.

SHEIN conducted more than two million product safety tests in 2024 as part of its efforts to ensure product quality and consumer safety.

The tests were carried out with third-party agencies, including Intertek, SGS, Bureau Veritas (BV), and TÜV, as well as at a CNAS-accredited laboratory.

In 2025, the company also plans to invest over $15m to strengthen its safety protocols and compliance measures.

SHEIN requires vendors to follow local product safety laws and its own standards, including the restricted substances list (RSL) and vendor code of conduct.

Products in categories such as electronics, children’s goods, cosmetics, medical devices, and textiles undergo strict documentation checks and compliance training.

The company also conducts chemical and safety tests throughout the sales cycle, working with independent testing agencies.

SHEIN monitors vendors based on test results and customer feedback. Non-compliant sellers may face penalties, including product delistings, order restrictions, or contract termination.

In 2024, SHEIN removed more than 260 sellers who failed to meet its safety standards.

"Ensuring that our customers can shop with peace of mind is paramount at SHEIN," said Leonard Lin, president of EMEA and global head of public affairs for SHEIN.

"We have continued to expand our rigorous testing efforts, working with some of the world's top global testing agencies, to ensure that our products meet the highest standards and we continue to invest in enhancing our approach," he added.
