Amazon plans hiring persons with disabilities in Singapore

It aims to employ 15% of its associates in operation networks from persons with disabilities.

E-commerce platform Amazon has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with SG Enable in line with its goal to hire persons with disabilities for its operations facilities in Singapore.

In a statement, Amazon said the MOU will allow the company to have persons with disabilities from diverse cohorts account for 15% of its associates over the next three years for an inclusive workplace.

This partnership will also provide training to persons with disabilities to advance their careers in the logistics industry as the platform aims to co-develop training courses with SG Enable’s Enabling Academy.

Amazon will also provide mentorship and internship opportunities for students with disabilities under SG Enable’s RISE Mentorship and Institute of Higher Learning Internship programmes.

It has hired associates with autism, intellectual disabilities, and deaf or hard of hearing since July 2022, under SG Enables’ Job Placement and Job Support programme, in its fulfilment network.
