Shein joins US CBP pilot to boost import transparency
The program helps CBP prevent illegal or hazardous goods from entering the U.S.
Chinese fast fashion retailer Shein has joined the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Section 321 Data Pilot program, a voluntary initiative to enhance import transparency.
By sharing detailed package information, the program helps CBP prevent illegal or hazardous goods from entering the U.S. whilst speeding up legitimate e-commerce shipments.
"Our participation in CBP's Section 321 Data Pilot reaffirms Shein's standards of transparency and compliance," said Donald Tang, SHEIN’s Executive Chairman.
“By disclosing more details about the contents of each package, we can help ease CBP's burdens so they can focus on maintaining the efficient flow of legitimate trade, whilst protecting public safety, the U.S. economy, and importantly – American consumers,” he added.
In its first 30 days, Shein successfully submitted import data without technical issues or delays, according to CBP
