FedEx continues expansion with New South China Operations Centre

This is in partnership with the Guangdong Airport Authority Logistics Company. 

FedEx Express and the Guangdong Airport Authority Logistics Company to expand its gateway facility through the establishment of the new South China Operations Centre. 

The Centre will be located at its Asia Pacific Hub at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport. 

“We continue to expand our network and service offerings to cater to the growing needs of our customers in the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (AMEA) region and enhance their connections to global markets,” Kawal Preet, president of the AMEA at FedEx Express, said. 

“China is integral to our regional and global network. Our investment in the South China Operations Center will support our long-term growth in a region with high economic potential.”

The FedEx South China Operations Centre will cover an area spanning more than 41,000 square metres, which is more than twice the size of its current Guangzhou Gateway. 

It is set to be operational in 2027. It will include offices, sorting systems, operations areas and a warehouse. 

It will have the capacity to sort up to 25,000 packages and documents per hour, three times the sorting efficiency of the current facility.
