Lazada One to open on 20 April
Its key tenants include Spotify, Zalora, Alibaba Group, and JustCo.
Workspace Lazada One, formerly known as 5One Central, will be opening on 20 April, serving as a home to its anchor tenant, e-commerce platform Lazada.
Lazada One, whose key tenants include Spotify, Zalora, Alibaba Group, and JustCo, is a joint venture between ARA Asset Management Limited and Chelsfield Asia.
In a statement, the companies said the workspace is a 260,000 square feet building located within the Bras Basah district.
“Lazada One reinvents the office space by giving the property a new lease of life, boasting large, contiguous and efficient office spaces that are rare in the densely packed central districts,” they said.
Chelsfield CEO Nick Loup said LazadaOne “combines forward-looking eco-efficient features and a vibrant location, allowing organisations to position themselves in an exciting and energetic environment that aligns closely with the needs and desires of the modern workforce.”
The building also reflects ARA Asset Management commitment in creating “sustainable buildings of the highest standards,” CEO Moses Song said.
ARA and Chelsfield secured a S$385.8m green loan from DBS Bank and the United Overseas Bank in 2020 to fund the acquisition and asset enhancement plan for LazadaOne to incorporate sustainability features into the building.
It will rely on smart technologies such as carbon dioxide sensors to regulate fresh air supply, occupancy sensors, recycling and electric vehicle charging facilities, and high-efficiency variable and constant air distribution system.
“These features are estimated to reduce energy consumption up to 20 percent, earning Lazada One a Green Mark Platinum certification from the Building & Construction Authority of Singapore,” the companies said.
