Lawson net income climbs to JPY624m in Q1

This is up from JPY 393m in the same quarter last year. 

Japanese convenience store operator Lawson reported its net income grew to JPY624m in the quarter ending in June 2022. 

This went up from JPY393m in the same quarter in 2021. 

Over the same period, Lawson also saw its total revenue increased to JPY6.65b from JPY6.36b.

This comes as the company narrowed its loss in net interest income to JPY119m from JPY166m. 

It was also supported by a growth in net fees and commissions to JPY6.77b from JPY6.53b. 

In the fiscal year 2021, the company’s overall net income rose to JPY1.72b from JPY708m in 2020.
