DFS to open 7-star luxury retail, entertainment destination in China
It is projected to see around 16 million visitors per year by 2030.
DFS Group plans to establish DFS Yalong, Bay the first world-class, seven-star luxury retail and entertainment destination in Sanya, Hainan, China, by 2026 which will feature over 1,000 luxury brands.
In a statement, the company said the DFS Yalong Bay will occupy a 128,000-square-metre site and is expected to attract around 16 million visitors annually by 2030.
It will house various luxury brands including maisons from LVMH Group once operational. The destination will enable an “elevate immersive concepts” in various categories such as fashion and apparel, beauty and fragrances, and watches and jewellery amongst others.

“DFS Yalong Bay is an incredibly exciting development for DFS, and I believe for the
Chinese travel industry”, said DFS Chairman and CEO Benjamin Vuchot.
“Think the glamour and experience of Shanghai, Macau, Dubai, and Las Vegas: now add Sanya to these dream destinations. Yalong Bay represents a key entry point to Hainan which the China Government plans to turn into the world’s largest free-trade port,” he added.
Vuchot added that Hainan also offers luxurious resorts, sandy white beaches and high-end facilities which will make the province one of the fastest-growing luxury markets globally.
