Singapore mall hosts space-themed events
White Sands, located in the heartlands of Pasir Ris in Singapore, will be running The Starmazing Space Adventure from 25 May to 30 June 2018. This space-themed campaign is built in collaboration with schools nation-wide for shoppers and space enthusiasts to learn about outer space, constellations, planets and the universe. The mall will offer a range of activities such as shopper giveaways and a unique indoor space exhibit made from balloons and lights.
Led and designed by students from nine schools and clubs island-wide with a passion for all things astronomical, White Sands has worked closely with students from National University of Singapore, Anglo Chinese School, Singapore Polytechnic, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Hwa Chong Institution, Nanyang Junior College, Anderson-Serangoon Junior College, Republic Polytechnic and Astronomy United to bring the space adventure to life. Running from 15 to 25 June, some of the exciting and educational activities include a maze of the universe built with balloons, lights and handmade planets, alongside a mass stargazing session with supporting talks about space.
Dennis Cheong, general manager of Century Square and White Sands, shares, “We are thrilled to bring together students in celebration of a shared passion where they can work with White Sands to showcase their vast knowledge about space with the wider community. We believe in serving with heart in everything we do, and I’m confident the mass stargazing session will unite us all and make a positive impact as we experience the beauty of our universe in front of our very eyes!”
Located in the main atrium of the mall, the ticketed custom-built balloon maze and exhibition will be filled with interesting facts about the universe, astrophotography of shining constellations, and balloon sculptures of animals that have been flown into outer space to learn more about life in space.
