Century Square to undergo enhancement
AsiaMalls Management, the property manager of Century Square in Singapore, yesterday announced a S$60 million (US$44 million) investment to refurbish the decades-old mid-sized mall located in Tampines.
The enhancement is targeted to complete in the second half of 2018.
The refurbishment will allow the mall to transform into a community space that will provide shoppers with curated shopping experiences to meet their retail and social needs. The year-long initiative will see AsiaMalls partnering with brands like Samsung and other vendors to provide digital solutions to enhance the shopping experience.
Tan Kee Yong, managing director of AsiaMalls Management said: “As we enter into an exciting time for retail, we’re always trying to find innovative ways to provide a more seamless, relevant and purposeful experience for our shoppers. That’s the aim that we have in mind with our Asset Enhancement Initiative for Century Square. At the end of the day, we want to make sure that we enhance the shopping experience, and that it is as multi-faceted as possible, so that Century Square becomes an essential part of the Tampines regional centre in terms of service, tenant offers and the overall experience.”
With feedback from focus groups conducted with the community, AsiaMalls has carefully curated the tenant mix and will welcome 50% new tenants relevant to the shopper’s lifestyle when it reopens next year.
