Temu partners with DEKRA to boost product safety in marketplace
DEKRA will provide independent testing for Temu’s automotive and household electronics.
E-commerce platform Temu and DEKRA, a global testing and certification organisation, have announced a partnership aimed at improving product safety, compliance, and quality assurance on Temu’s marketplace.
As part of the collaboration, DEKRA will offer independent testing for certain electrical and electronic products sold on Temu, including automotive electronics and household devices.
The testing services will be accessible through Temu’s Seller Center, allowing merchants to request testing and certification directly via the platform.
Temu already requires sellers of specific product categories—such as toys, high-voltage electrical goods, and heating equipment—to provide compliance documentation from recognised testing and certification bodies before listing their items.
The agreement with DEKRA is part of Temu’s wider push to strengthen product safety controls.
In 2025, the company spent about $100m globally on compliance and quality measures and plans to double that investment in 2026.
Temu has formed partnerships with more than 20 internationally recognised testing and certification organisations, including DEKRA.
