IKEA opens first New Zealand store at Sylvia Park
It offers 7,500 products and spans 34,000 square metres.
IKEA Sylvia Park, Auckland, opened as the Swedish retailer’s first store in New Zealand, offering 7,500 products.
The IKEA Auckland store is said to be larger than the average IKEA store globally as it spans 34,000 square metres.
It also offers styled-room sets, features three-floors, a Swedish restaurant, and runs 50% on solar power.
The Sylvia Park store is part of IKEA’s expansion in the country, with the retailer investing (EUR5b) in 2027 to open new locations and upgrade existing stores in other markets.
Meanwhile, IKEA also began to offer products online through its website and app in New Zealand.
It set up 29 pick-up points where customers can collect their purchases across the country, the retailer said.
The Auckland store, pick-up points, and online channels make sales in an omnichannel way, it added.
